摘要:
At present, by the time the primary tumor is diagnosed, some two thirds of patients with cancer already have metastases. NCI has therefore set as an intermediate goal the diagnosis of 75% of all cancer patients“early”enough so that 90% would still be free of metastases. Steps toward achieving this goal include the development of practicable screening programs and sensitive, preferably automated, diagnostic tests.
