Urinary candidiasis is a relatively rare problem in children which, until recently, required amphotericin either intravenously or by bladder wash out for eradication. Two children who developed this infection secondary to neurological bladder disease were treated with 5‐fluorocytosine. Very high levels of the 5‐fluorocytosine were found in the urine and a rapid clinical and bacteriological response obtained. No signs of toxicity were seen on clinical or biochemical examination.
