1IntroductionThis review highlights new developments in the chemistry of the Group 16elements (thechalcogens) reported during 2000. As in previousyears, results that demonstrate novelty of product or synthetic approach astheir main feature have been emphasized. In addition, the products reportedare limited to those in possession of a discrete molecular structure, thushighlighting the extraordinary ability of these elements (sulfur, seleniumand tellurium in particular) to contribute to novel clusterarrangements.
