The number of suitable patients is on the rise; refinement and diversification of equipment have enormously extended the potential applications. Yet too often inhalation therapy is still construed mainly as respiratory assistance. A centralized service is the key to the organization of facilities and the training of personnel that will permit hospitals to take full advantage of advances in this field.
