Report of a workshop on synchrotron radiation instrumentation for x−ray absorption spectroscopy, a satellite meeting of the 4th International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation, will be presented. The workshop comprised presentations and discussions in the principal areas of x−ray optics, sources of noise, detectors and new experiments. (AIP)
