Using methods similar to those of Marshall [3], bounds for the mean stationary waiting time and the stationary probability of wait in GI/G/1 are obtained. In particular, two-sided bounds for queues with interarrival times having an Erlang distribution are given, and bounds which are basing on special properties of the distribution of difference of interarrival and service times.
