AbstractTwo kinds of standard media for particle size and number‐density measurements and calibration are described. Although the main concern is multiple scattering situations, they might also be useful for single and dependent scattering. One medium is made of particles embedded in a solid polymer matrix and the other of particles embedded in a gel.
