Two papers “Rejection of Outliers” by F. J. Anscombe and “Locating Outliers in Factorial Experiments” by C. Daniel were presented at the Christmas, 1959 meetings of the American Statistical Association. These papers, plus a discussion by William Kruskal, Thomas S. Ferguson, John W. Tukey and E. J. Gumbel were published in the hlay 1960 issue ofTechnometrics. The following paper by Dr. Bross continues the exchange of ideas on the subject of “Outliers”.
