The management of obesity, particularly the use of pharmacotherapy, was discussed at a symposium at the joint 7th World Conference on Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and 4th Congress of the European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics [Florence, Italy; June 2000].*Delegates heard about currently available drugs for the treatment of obesity, in addition to promising new types of agents and possible therapeutic targets.
