摘要:
A popular demonstration often used when discussing surface tension involves a less-dense object (cork, etc.) floating on a liquid surface (water) in a container (glass). For a number of years I have used a variation of this demonstration which suggests that the relative position of the floating object is due to a combination of the surface-tension properties of water and gravitational forces.
