The purpose of this paper is primarily to present a “state of the art” survey of the role played by static electricity in the textile and fiber industries. The current situation, including the problems and suggested solutions, both successful and unsuccessful, will be reviewed. Finally, useful applications of electrostatics in the industry will be described.
