摘要:
To calculate the reflection coefficient for an ultrasonic wave at a lossy liquid–lossless solid interface, we need a uniquely defined square root. This is made possible by noting that the wave is not absorbed in the direction of propagation into the solid. Using this right square root, we find a reflection coefficient which is always smaller than unity.
