摘要:
Early life history stages are becoming increasingly important to systematic and evolutionary studies of fishes. To meet the needs of this new emphasis in research, museums must add such material to their collections. At the same time, field-oriented institutions must make their collections of larval fishes available for deposit in museums. Much valuable material has been lost in the past because it was not properly curated. Curatorial procedures are discussed, and recommendations are made for proper handling of larval fishes.
