AbstractFrom the work ofR. Kuhnet al. it appeared that brominated derivatives of salicil have a high anti‐bacterial activity in vitro, but that in vivo they show only little activity as a result of serum‐binding. Base‐substituted phenols are usually bound by serum to a smaller extent. Therefore, an amino‐substituted bromo‐salicil was synthesized. A water soluble derivative of this compound was also
