AbstractThis report relates to the finding and identification of the Pinto Mountains, Riverside County, California, chondrite (CN = 1161,337:), the 14th meteorite found in California, and the largest aerolite so far recovered in that state and preserved. A description is given of the surface features of the Pinto Mountains stone and also of the fault‐surfaces and the rich chondritic structure characterizing the interior of this meteorite.
