The use of an effective walking appliance enables a paralysed patient to achieve useful mobility. If, however, he is unable to sit down and stand up while wearing the appliance, its usefulness is much reduced as he is prevented from using his wheelchair. This paper records the results of research into this problem and gives details of a relatively straight forward solution.
