AbstractMesochaete grandiretisDix. is reduced to synonymy withM. taxiforme(Hampe) Watts&Whitel. and a comparison is made withM. undulataLindb. which has much smaller cells and also differs in perigonial and perichaetial leaves and capsule shape.
