摘要:

ABSTRACT.Recent attention has been directed to midline electrographic abnormalities and clinical correlates in both children and adults. These reports have described ictal or interictal epileptiform abnormalities. The present discussion deals with midline EEG findings exclusively in either premature or full-term newborns. Four uses of midline electrodes will be illustrated. These features include developmental patterns, epileptiform features, background attenuation, and biologic artifacts. Valuable electrographic information can be obtained by including midline electrodes with 16 or more EEG channels for neonatal recordings.
