AbstractReactions of some imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine 4‐oxides with phosphoryl chloride are described. Treatment ofN‐1‐substituted imidazo[4,5‐b]pyridine 4‐oxides with phosphoryl chloride led to the predominant formation of 7‐chloro derivatives.
