摘要:
Error analysis in numerical computation is as important as the answer itself. Indeed, sometimes error analysis can show that the desired numerical result is insufficiently determined by the original data, and there is no answer. Thii phenomenon is fairly well known in calculation of deterministic problems. In statistical analyses, the situation is clouded by the presence of sampling error. An example is given, illustrating the pitfalls involved in a statistical analysis of measured data of low precision.
