Owsley’s and Fay’s analysis of a collinear clustered array of sensors has been extended to the case of an arbitrary number of sensors in each cluster inasmuch as the representation of Gohberg and Semencul (GS) has been employed to provide a convenient and numerically efficient method of computing the minimum variance distortionless look (MVDL) beamformer and array gain for the array. The formalism is also unconstrained by any assumption regarding the strength of turbulent boundary layer (TBL) induced noise relative to the strength of additive uncorrelated sensor noise.
