An analytical expression of exponential form is obtained for the sediment concentration in a turbulent flow. The analytical solution is based on an expression for the kinematic eddy viscosity, which coincides with the experimental points throughout the whole flow region. The agreement between the available experimental data and the theoretical curves is acceptable, the values of the parameter z being lower in magnitude than those obtained in previous theories. Of particular interest is the fact that a finite value of the concentration is obtained at the surface of the flow.
