摘要:
AbstractWhile students of Canadian science policy may be familiar with the long list of landmark studies in this field, they may not — for reasons of security classification — be familiar with the Gendron Report. Prepared by a working group formed in late 1970 under the late Dr Pierre Gendron, this Report to the Prime Minister some six months later gave advice on the setting up of a central (federal) science policy agency and on the organization of federal scientific activities. This paper discusses the Report and its advice and, in particular, compares the Gendron group's view of federal scientific activities with those of the Wright Task Force which covered much the same ground some 13 years later.
