摘要: The general solution for a linear, second-order partial differential equation (generalized D'Alembert wave equation) with two independent variables, depending on a parameter, is given in terms of two arbitrary functions for a convenient choice of the parameter. By a convenient limit process we can obtain the classical D'Alembert solution for the homogeneous wave equation.
