Inclusive scattering of protons on helium and nickel at 500 MeV

摘要:

Inclusive scattering on4He and Ni has been measured at 500 MeV proton energy with polarized beam at laboratory angles of 65°, 90°, 120°, and 160°. The cross section data are well fitted by the direct knockout model. The analyzing powers show major differences in going from4He to Ni. This result may have strong implications for inclusive scattering theories.
