It is shocking, shameful, and selfom brought out into the open. Even the victimized family member often denies mistreatment. But it is a situation contronting many home health nurses and involving approximately a million older Americans. Although this is a hypothetical case, it presents a typical family situation of suspected abuse and neglect.
