SUMMARYGrowth ofPolyporus amaruswas studied in various concentrations of incense-cedar heartwood extract used alone as the medium and as an additive to malt extract. Growth in wood extract increased with concentration up to a level of 2.27 mg/ml of extract, then fell off abruptly at higher concentrations. In wood extract-malt extract medium, growth decreased as extract concentration increased.
