摘要:

For the description of refraction and reflection of a polarized plane electromagnetic wave at a plane boundary of two homogeneous isotropic dielectrics the following 19 quantities are introduced: the reflection coefficientsr‖(E),r┴(E),r‖(H),r┴(H), the transmission coefficientst‖(E),t┴(E),t‖(H),t‖(H), the phase shifts on reflection δ‖(E), δ┴(E), δ‖(H), δ┴(H)for the components of both electric and magnetic vectors parallel and perpendicular to the plane of incidence, the reflectivitiesR‖,R┴, the transmissivitiesT‖,T┴, the difference of phase shifts δ = δ‖(E)− δ┴(E)− δ┴(H)− δ‖(H)and the coefficients A and B characterizing the rotation of the plane of vibration. In the case of natural light these four quantities are introduced: the reflectivityR, the transmissivityTand the degrees of polarization Prand Ptafter the reflection and refraction. The paper gives 12 graphs describing each of these 23 quantities as a function of two independent variables: the relative refractive index and the angle of incidence. The graphs are plotted in the region of refractive indices 0≦n≦3 and for angles of incidence 0°≦Θi≦90°.
