摘要:
SummaryThrough electrical stimulation of a delimited part of the amygdaloid nuclei remarkable change in respiratory movements was recognized in the cat and rabbit. The change is typified in diminution of amplitude and increase in the rate of respiration. Sometimes apnoea was seen at the beginning of stimulation. Experiments ascertained that these phenomena resulted by merit of the neuronal transmission through stria terminalis upon the respiratory cent‐r in hypothalamus. By dissections of the stimulated animals it was found that the lung exhibited in all cases many flecks of hemorrhage. In general, change was more pronounced in the stimulated side of the lung than in the opposite side. Through injection of aqueous solution of sodium glutaminate we could obtain also a peculiar change in respiratory movements, dissection showing unusually severe damage in the lun
