摘要:
The importance of medical students mastering the process of case presentations has been emphasized in the literature. In a pilot program in the 1992-93 academic year, the pediatric clerkship at Children's National Medical Center introduced the group case presentation, a format that enabled three to four students to work together as a team in preparing the case abstract and oral presentation. This approach was motivated by the fact that most physicians join group practices and are required to work through problems both within and outside their practice. The students have evaluated this innovation positively and it has been implemented in the current academic year. The pros and cons of this process are discussed.
