摘要:
Submarine peat has been found at a depth of about 8 metres in the harbour of Limhamn, SW Scania, Sweden. The peat belongs to the oldest part of pollen none AT-1 in the Scamian pollen zone system (T. Nilsson 1935, 1961). Two branch pieces of Salix from the peat have been dated by the radiocarbon method: age 7 895 ± 115 and 7 990 ± 160 years BP. The peat is overlain by marine clay gyttja, which belongs to pollen zone AT-2. The diatoms in the gyttja indicate two transgressional maxima at the levels AT-2 f and AT-2 d. These maxima have been correlated with other maxima from the Öresund area found by Halden (1929) and Iversen (1936); cf. T. Nilsson (1935, 1948). The Litorina-Trapes transgression at Limhamn must have reached the level 8 m below the recent sea-level after the time when the peat was formed.
