ABSTRACTPrevious research has indicated that attitudes can affect the quality of nursing care given to a specific patient. The purpose of this study was to determine if nurses working in acute‐care and intermediate‐care areas have different attitudes toward spinal cord injury patients than rehabilitation nurses.Mrs. Leinart is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, and is a Board Member of the 5th District of the Illinois Nurses Association. She has several years of clinical experience in medical‐surgical nursing, primarily in intensive and coronary care
