Transfer of a high-risk pregnant woman or seriously ill infant is disruptive and stressful and poses a challenge to the parents' ability to cope. To make the transport situation a positive one, psychosocially as well as medically, for the patients and their families, these authors provide guidelines for sensitive interventions the critical care nurse can provide.
