The influence of multiple scattering corrections on high accuracy neutron‐proton analyzing power data measured at 16.9 MeV

摘要:

Monte Carlo studies have been made to correct neutron‐proton analyzing power data for multiple scattering effects. The presence of carbon in the center (hydrogen) scatterer is taken into account using the new Ay(&thgr;) data now available for n−12C scattering in the energy region of interest. The asymmetry produced by multiple scattering effects is very close to zero except for scattering angles near 30° and 80° (lab).
