摘要:
The theory of the supersonic interferometer is developed by deriving an expression for the impedance of the mechanical system to which the instrument may be reduced. The impedance is found to be a function of the crystal constants, frequency, length of fluid column, acoustic resistance of the medium, and sound absorption in it. The principal features of the behavior of the device are thereby explained and its possible usefulness in the measurement of sound absorption coefficients pointed out.
