In the search for newer and safer nondepolarizing muscle relaxants, 2 drugs have now undergone extensive investigation. Vecuronium and atracurium are both relatively short-acting drugs which appear to have little propensity for producing undesirable cardiovascular effects.Accordingly, several experienced investigators were requested to contribute their views on the future of these relaxants.
