AbstractThe preparation of a number of 2,3‐dialkoxy‐ and 2,3‐diaryloxyquinoxalines is described in detail. Unlike many other substituted quinoxaline derivatives, these compounds appear to be relatively very stable towards potassium permanganate.It is demonstrated that the introduction of particular substituents into the benzene ring of these quinoxaline derivatives again produces starting materials for the preparation of pyrazine carboxylic
