Abstract:The implications of using broad-based DRG data versus more specific clinical data must be presented when implementing a hospital-based case management program. Administrators and nurse managers must collaborate when defining and applying appropriate financial indicators and implementing critical paths. Knowledge of patient populations and case types addresses both quality and cost.
