摘要:
A second example of normally occurring coincident endopolyploidy and polyteny is reported from the larval salivary gland nuclei of an unidentified Cecidomyid species (possiblyLestodiplosis pisi). Two endopolyploid nuclei were found near the anterior end of each salivary gland in « super-giant » cells. These appear to develop from ordinary « diploid » polytene nuclei by progressive splitting.
