摘要:
SUMMARYThree cases of malignant diffuse pleural mesothelioma are presented. These serve as a reminder of the urban hazard ever present. Radiologically each of these cases demonstrates the characteristic progressive diffuse pulmonary encasement by a thickened nodular pleural neoplasm, in the manner of a rind. This sign may be all too obvious only after incidental induction of a pneumothorax.Note is made in regard to the difficulty often experienced in making a precise histological diagnosis and the inevitable delay in diagnosis may be partly responsible for the poor prognosis. The Radiologist by maintaining a high index of suspicion can offer the chance of an early diagnosis.
