摘要:
Already identified in the etiology of some secondary hypertensive states, the kidneys and the adrenals, through the renin/angiotensin/aldosterone system, appear to play a critical role in homeostatic control of arterial blood pressure. Detailed investigation of this system, including its role in sodium balance and plasma volume, suggests that patients with essential hypertension can be classified into three hormonally distinct groups.
