摘要:
This study examined nurses' attitudes towards human sexuality, and their role in providing sex education for patients following myocardial infarction. Results of the study revealed that although cardiac nurses were more conservative in their sexual attitudes than norms reported for graduate nurses, 82% of cardiac nurses believed that sexual counseling of patients following myocardial infarction should be the nurse's role. However, only 52% of cardiac nurses reported that they included sexual counseling in education of patients after myocardial infarction, and 50% reported that they did not feel comfortable or knowledgeable enough to consistently provide patients with sexual counseling.
