摘要:
The rate of takeovers in social groups of Presbytis entellus was studied in two different areas: an area shared with human residents and Ambagarh Reserve Forest. Population densities of langurs differed between these two areas. There were fewer, less aggressive takeovers in the low-density area as compared to the high-density area. Aggressiveness, a marked transition period, interim residencies, ‘sneaky’ copulations and multi-male phases were some of the typical features accompanying takeovers in Ambagarh Reserve Forest. The study suggests that population density rather than habitat disturbance is correlated with takeov
