Keys are given to distinguish the Neotropical Diaphorininae (Katacephala Crawford, NotophorinaBurckhardt andAllophorina gen.n.). Description and keys are given to the species ofKatacephalaandAllophorina. KatacephalaCrawford comprises six species,grandicepsCrawford (the type species),tenuipennisTuthill,arcuataCrawford,psidii(Tuthill) comb.n.,cinctatasp.n. andanomalasp.n.JenseniellaTuthill is synonymized withKatacephala. Katacephala fasciataJensen is synonymised with K.arcuataCrawford. Known host‐plants are all Myrtaceae.Allophorinacomprises two species,lobatasp.n. (the type species) andunasp.n.
