摘要:
An on-line Radioactive Ion Beam (RIB) facility is being developed at NSC, New Delhi utilizing the existing 15 UD Pelletron accelerator and the recoil mass separator, HIRA in a new ion-optical mode. The primary beams from the accelerator will be used in inverse kinematics for the production of light RIB species such as7Be,8Li,13N,17F,18Ne,etc. These products are separated and transported by HIRA which will be operated in a new ion-optical mode specially tuned for excellent beam rejection and better transportation efficiency. The RIB particles are collected and focussed at the secondary target site with better intensity and optimal beam qualities (an intensity of about104–106&hthinsp;ppsand size ∼ 3 mm dia.). The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 1998. ©1999 American Institute of Physics.
