Through continuous attention, on a team basis, to all the health needs of the aged, such a service not only keeps these multiproblem patients within their community but maximizes the hospital's ability to handle an ever-increasing geriatric caseload. In seven years, a pioneer center in Baltimore has developed a strong rapport with 700 patients it currently serves and has won acceptance from the city's medical community.
