摘要:
Two lectures. In the first one the autor gives a preliminary account of the ancient Quaternary uplifted and drowned shore marks in the periphery of the glaciated area of Fennoscandia, at the eastern end of Gulf of Finland, and in the surroundings of Lake Ladoga and Lake Onega. The record is based partly upon studies of Russian geologists, i. a. K. K. Markow, S. A. Jakovlew, and Zemljakow, partly upon observations made by E. Hyyppä and the author. The most interesting event in the changes of level may bo considered a great marine transgression during the early Goti-Glacial time. At that time the Baltic stood in a direct connection with the White See. In the author's opinion, there may be constructed a couple of synchronic Late-Glacial shore levels which can bo followed from Ingermanland to the Salpausselkä end moraines, and which are bent downwards, showing thus a marked hinge line.
