Some 18 experimental autoallergic diseases, almost all of which have clinical counterparts, have now been studied. From these and other studies have emerged not only clear definition of the histologic events in cellular hypersensitivity but also rapid progress toward development of techniques which would greatly enhance the possibility of preventing or more effectively suppressing these responses.
