摘要:

Nestled along the banks of the Saugeen River and at the foot of rolling hills, Walkerton is a pretty town about 200 kilometres northwest of Toronto. Its population of 4,800 helps to maintain its small town look and feel, and many of its residents make their living from businesses that serve the surrounding farms. Until May 2000, there was little to distinguish this town from dozens of small towns in Ontario. But when the town's water supply became contaminated with deadly bacteria, 2300 people became ill, and seven people died, the world changed forever for its residents.
