AbstractHow much is depletion of natural resources and environmental pollution really costing us?Uncontrolled harvesting of renewable resources is endangering essential ecological processes. Pollution is causing significant dantage to health, materials and recreational opportunities but how can we measure these facts?Remedial action must be taken despite the uncertainties. We must move towards reliance on nature's ‘income’ without depletion of her ‘capital’.
